GBBA Prepares Lunch at Thomas Merton Center
Posted on June 23, 2010
GBBA Members gathered June 22, 2010 to give back to the Greater Bridgeport community for the Community Outreach Committee’s Summer project. Members prepared our famous ziti and meatballs lunch for the Thomas Merton Center in Bridgeport. Though the center feeds over 250 people a day, it is much more than a soup kitchen. Since it opened its doors more than 30 years ago, they have expanded and now offer in addition to food, shelter and health services to the homeless, the elderly, the working poor and the sick. The GBBA is happy to support such a worthy center. We thank all who volunteered, those who donated money and Committee Chair Kathleen Dunn for organizing it. We hope to see you all again next year.
